Synopsis:
A Bosnian immigrant who fled to Toronto after the civil war returns to his homeland in search of a missing friend who has been implicated in war crimes in this quietly chilling and finely surreal meditation on confronting traumas of the past.
“Drljaca turns detective work into surreal poetry in his absorbing feature debut, leaving us to fill in the gaps as he follows a winding path Joseph Conrad and Raymond Chandler might recognize. The camera hovers expectantly; the sound hints of menace” – Peter Howell, The Toronto Star
“KRIVINA is contemplative and unafraid of ambiguity. It demands a similar audience.” – Sound on Sight
“Igor Drljaca’s debut is a sparsely produced and yet atmospherically captivating portrait of a man who is out of place wherever he goes.” – Adam Nayman, The Grid
“KRIVINA shook the foundations of my soul and moved me to both tears and an almost transcendent state of both despair and hope.” – Greg Klymkiw, Klymkiw’s Film Corner
